The PAGE Foundation promotes world-class education for all of Georgia’s children through initiatives that recruit, develop, retain and recognize highly accomplished teachers.

The PAGE (Professional Association of Georgia Educators) Foundation was established in 1985. The foundation assists aspiring and existing Georgia educators with scholarship opportunities and supports PAGE in its efforts to provide career-long professional learning opportunities for educators. The PAGE Foundation also honors outstanding students and educators and encourages academic excellence through competitive programs such as PAGE STAR, the PAGE Academic Bowl for Middle Grades and the PAGE Georgia Academic Decathlon.

PAGE Foundation Scholarships

PAGE Foundation Scholarships are given to qualified PAGE and SPAGE members who aspire to become teachers or to veteran teachers who wish to enhance their academic careers. Since its inception in 1986, the PAGE Foundation Scholarship Program has awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships to promote the teaching profession.
2001 brought the establishment of the first Honor Your Favorite Teacher endowed scholarship, given by an anonymous donor in honor of Betty J. Phillips, a Bibb County school board member and life-long educator.

Academic Programs of Excellence

The PAGE STAR (Student Teacher Achievement Recognition) Program honors Georgia’s highest achieving high school seniors and the teachers  most instrumental in their academic development. Since the inception of the program, more than 24,000 STAR students and teachers have been honored.

The STAR program was launched in 1958 by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. In 1994, the PAGE Foundation was invited to coordinate the program in association with the chamber and the Georgia Department of Education. The 86,000+ members of the Professional Association of Georgia Educators are honored to recognize Georgia's future leaders and the professional educators who have nurtured these scholars.

At the local, region and state levels, the PAGE STAR program unites educators with the business and civic communities to honor academic excellence.

The PAGE Georgia Academic Decathlon (GAD) is an academic competition comprised of 10 events for high school students. The program is unique because each nine-member team is made up of “A,” “B” and “C” students. Students compete as a team as well as individually. In a typical Decathlon competition, students are tested in seven content areas: economics, art, music, language and literature, mathematics, science and social science. In addition, the students amass points in three communication events: speech, interview and essay. “Super Quiz,” encompasses five of the seven curriculum events (mathematics and economics are excluded) in an oral relay held before an audience. Winners of the annual GAD State Competition earn the opportunity to represent Georgia at the United States Academic Decathlon National Finals. Decathlon was first sponsored by the PAGE Foundation in 1992.

In 1985 the PAGE Academic Bowl for Middle Grades, a scholastic competition in a quiz bowl format, became the first program sponsored by the PAGE Foundation. Each year middle school students from both public and independent schools throughout the state participate.  The competition inspires students to excel academically, boosts student confidence and self-esteem through high achievement, stimulates a competitive spirit and fosters teamwork.
The Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE), the parent organization of the Foundation, is a nonunion, statewide professional association of more than 90,000 teachers, administrators and support personnel members.  PAGE's core business is to provide professional learning for educators to enhance competence and confidence, build leadership and increase student achievement, while providing the best in membership, legislative and legal services and support.
